Llanpumsaint: A tragic incident unfolded when a man named Aaron Jones, 38, was killed in an alleged hit and run. His body was found in a churchyard after his dog was spotted wandering alone. This all started on December 23, 2024, when Aaron was out walking his dog.
The coroner’s officer shared that Aaron was struck by a vehicle near Caer Salem Chapel. Sadly, the driver didn’t stop, and Aaron’s dog ran off. A local man found the dog and alerted Aaron’s wife, which led to a search for him.
Shortly after, Aaron’s body was discovered at the chapel. The police are actively investigating the incident. They’ve arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other related charges, but he’s been released on bail.
Dyfed-Powys Police are continuing their investigation into this heartbreaking collision. They’re providing support to Aaron’s family during this tough time, and the family has requested privacy as they grieve.
The local community is in shock. Councillor Bryan Jones expressed how well-respected Aaron was in Llanpumsaint. He was known for his involvement in local activities and was always there to lend a hand. The village is mourning the loss of a beloved member.
At the inquest, the assistant coroner opened proceedings and decided to adjourn until the police wrap up their investigation. It’s a sad time for everyone who knew Aaron.
