Wollongong: A tragic incident unfolded when a man fell from a building during a police operation. This happened on December 18, and it’s been a tough few days since.

Police were called to a unit on Bligh St early that morning. They were looking into an ongoing investigation when the man, who was 50, tried to climb down and fell.

Emergency services rushed to help him. He had some serious injuries, including to his face and spine. They took him to Wollongong Hospital, but things didn’t improve.

Later, he was airlifted to St George Hospital, but sadly, police reported that he passed away on Saturday. It’s just heartbreaking.

Now, a critical incident team from the South Coast Police District is looking into what happened. They’ll be preparing a report for the coroner, and there will also be an independent review.
