Newton Abbot: A 44-year-old guy named David Yilma just got a hefty prison sentence for some really disturbing stuff. He was caught setting up hidden cameras to spy on young boys in places where they thought they were safe.

He showed up at Exeter Crown Court and got slapped with 38 months behind bars. Yilma, who’s originally from the Czech Republic, admitted to a bunch of charges, including voyeurism and making indecent images of kids.

This all went down over five years, and it’s just awful. The court found out he had these sneaky cameras hidden in all sorts of places, even in a Wi-Fi router and a cotton bud box. Can you believe that?

Things came to light when someone spotted a live feed from one of his cameras on his tablet. That’s when the police stepped in and arrested him. They found loads of footage of the boys he recorded, plus some other really disturbing material he accessed online.

His lawyer described his actions as a “highly skilled” setup, which is just chilling. Yilma even admitted he was attracted to boys during police interviews. The judge didn’t hold back, saying he was a danger to young boys and shouldn’t be around kids at all.

Yilma had plans to start a boys’ school back in Czechia, and the judge made it clear he hopes that never happens. The investigating officer expressed her concern for the kids affected, saying they had their trust broken by someone who should have protected them.

If you or someone you know has been affected by this kind of situation, there are support services available. It’s important to reach out and get help.
