A man was arrested for duping job seekers by posing as an Income Tax official, collecting Rs 2 crore in total.
Palghar, Maharashtra, Income Tax, Fraud, Job Scam
The guy, identified as Rinku Sharma, was quite the con artist. He drove around in a car marked with the Income Tax department’s name and even had a flashy amber light on top. He convinced one victim to pay Rs 15 lakh for a job for his daughter as an I-T Inspector, but of course, that job never materialized.
When the police got wind of the complaints, they started digging into Sharma’s activities. They caught him on Tuesday and found a stash of 28 fake ID cards, including ones claiming he was an Assistant Commissioner and even a CBI Police Commissioner.
The police believe he might have cheated more than 40 people, and they’re still figuring out the full extent of his scam. An FIR has been filed against him for various charges, including cheating and forgery. It’s a wild story, and it just goes to show how careful we need to be with job offers that seem too good to be true!
