Man Flees Country After Violent Attack on Ex-Partner in Rothwell
A man has fled the country after violently attacking his ex-partner, leaving her injured and requiring stitches

Rothwell: So, there’s this guy, Kieran Smith, who really messed up. He broke his ex-partner’s nose during a drunken rage. It all went down at her place back in May 2021.
He was totally out of control, punching her in the face even after promising he wouldn’t hurt her. The poor woman ended up with a swollen eye and needed stitches. It’s just awful.
After the attack, Smith was released but didn’t stick around. He broke his bail conditions and took off. Fast forward to summer 2023, and he was finally caught in Blackpool after a lot of people helped the police out.
He pleaded guilty to causing serious harm without intent and got 20 months in prison. Plus, he’s not allowed to contact his ex for three years. Good riddance, right?
The detective on the case praised the victim for her bravery. She really stood strong through all of this, even when Smith tried to dodge justice. It’s a tough situation, but at least he’s facing the consequences now.
