Birmingham: A pedestrian is in a tough spot after being hit by a car at a busy junction in Moseley. This happened around 4:45 PM on January 13, when he was crossing St Mary’s Row at Alcester Road.
Good folks nearby jumped in to help him and took him to a pub before he was rushed to the hospital. Initially, his injuries seemed serious, but sadly, his condition took a turn for the worse, and now he’s critically ill.
The driver of the car stopped for a moment but then took off, possibly heading down Salisbury Road. Police are urging that driver to come forward, along with anyone who might have seen what happened or has dashcam footage.
Det Sgt Paul Hughes from the serious collision investigation unit mentioned that this incident occurred during a busy time, so there were likely many witnesses around. He’s really hoping to hear from anyone who hasn’t reached out yet.
He also directly appealed to the driver, saying it’s important to get their side of the story. They might not have realized how badly the pedestrian was hurt, but it’s crucial for everyone involved to get clarity on the situation.
If you have any info, even if it seems small, don’t hesitate to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting log 3950 of January 13, or you can email the detectives directly.
