Monaghan: A man is in serious trouble after being attacked with a baseball bat. Declan Wallace, 47, was found badly hurt on Park Road late Tuesday night.

Emergency services rushed him to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where doctors say his condition is critical. He’s got some really severe head injuries.

It looks like he got into a fight with a group of guys who used a bat on him. They took off after the attack, leaving him in a bad way.

Due to a suspected brain bleed, he was moved to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he’s still fighting for his life. Police have arrested three people—a couple of men and a woman—on suspicion of being involved in the attack.

Local Councillor Seamus Treanor expressed his shock over the incident, saying these kinds of attacks are happening way too often. He believes we need stricter laws and tougher sentences to deal with this violence.

Meanwhile, the police are asking anyone who saw what happened or has any video footage from that area to come forward. They really want to get to the bottom of this.

If you have any info, you can reach out to Monaghan Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. Every bit helps!
