Man dies in M6 horror crash with Audi and lorries

Wigan: A man in his 30s lost his life in a terrible crash on the M6. It happened near Hunger Hill, between Junctions 27 and 28, just after 3 PM on a Sunday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, the man was pronounced dead right there. The southbound side of the motorway had to be closed for an air ambulance to land, and it stayed shut for hours while they investigated.

This tragic event caused major traffic jams, with delays of over an hour. Diversions were set up to help get drivers moving again.

Sgt Laura Kendall from the police shared her condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this very upsetting time.” She also asked anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to reach out to them.
