Cornwall: A sad situation unfolded recently when a man and a woman were found dead. The woman, in her 60s, was discovered at a home on Churchtown Road in Illogen early in the morning.

Shortly after, emergency services were alerted about a man in his 50s who had fallen from a bridge on the A30. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It turns out the man and woman knew each other, and their families have been informed. Police believe no one else was involved, but they’re looking into what happened.

The A30 was closed for several hours while the investigation took place, but it reopened later in the day. However, New Portreath Road is still shut off.

Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft expressed his sadness over the incident and mentioned that they’re doing everything possible to support the families. They’re working hard to figure out the details and have set up cordons for a thorough investigation.

He reassured the community that this is being treated as an isolated case and that they’re not looking for any other suspects. There will be more police around, and they encourage anyone with concerns to reach out to local officers.

If you have any information, you can contact the police online or call 101, mentioning log number 131 of January 10.
