Brisbane: A shocking incident unfolded in the southwest of the city. A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder after a violent kidnapping that left another man dead.

It all started when the accused allegedly assaulted a 52-year-old man on Rudyard St in Richlands. This happened around 6:30 PM on a Sunday. The injured man was taken to Logan Hospital with serious head injuries.

Sadly, despite medical efforts, he passed away just a day later. Detective Inspector Chris Knight mentioned that he’s seen a lot in his career, but this level of violence was particularly disturbing.

According to police, the deceased and two friends met the accused and others at the location, where they were threatened and taken against their will. They endured hours of violence before being returned to their vehicle.

Detectives believe this was a coordinated effort to extort and rob the victims. They’re looking into the possibility of organized crime being involved.

One of the victims suffered a broken leg and other serious injuries, while another had facial injuries. The police are asking for public help to find a silver Jaguar sedan linked to the case.

The 31-year-old was arrested at a home in Griffin and is facing multiple charges, including murder and kidnapping. He’s set to appear in court soon.
