Manchester: The January transfer window is officially open, and Manchester City is looking to make some moves. Pep Guardiola’s team has had a rough patch lately, dropping in the Premier League and getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup.

They did manage a much-needed 2-0 win against Leicester, but that was only their second victory in 13 games. They’re currently sitting sixth, four points behind Chelsea and a whopping 14 points off the top spot held by Liverpool.

With the second half of the season approaching, there’s chatter that City might dive into the transfer market to boost their squad. According to reports, they’re eyeing several players to help turn things around.

One name popping up is Dani Olmo, who could join on a free transfer. He’s not registered with Barcelona anymore, so that could be a smooth deal. Then there’s Ederson from Atalanta, who could step in while Rodri is out, but his club is at the top of Serie A and doesn’t want to let him go.

They’re also considering Douglas Luiz, a former City player now at Juventus, as a loan option. Guardiola seems to have his eye on Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Eberechi Eze too. Anthony Gordon is another name on the list, but it looks like any of these signings might have to wait until summer.

On the pitch, City is gearing up to face West Ham this weekend. Guardiola is hoping to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since October as they aim to climb the table and regain their form.
