Sydney: A wild scene unfolded when police were shot at during a chase. A 20-year-old guy named Faez Finau was arrested after allegedly trying to break into a home while armed.

It all started early Tuesday morning when cops got a call about someone trying to get into a house in Edensor Park. When they arrived, they learned two armed individuals had jumped into a Hyundai and took off.

The police spotted the car on Cowpasture Rd, but when they tried to pull it over, the driver didn’t stop. They had to call off the chase for safety reasons, but not before someone in the car fired at the police.

Later, the same car was stopped using road spikes in Varroville. Finau was caught at the scene, but another guy took off on foot. When they searched the car, police found two pistols, an assault rifle, and some spent cartridges.

Finau allegedly tried to enter the home with a Beretta pistol, intending to scare the people inside. He’s now facing serious charges, including possession of illegal firearms and aggravated break and enter.

He didn’t ask for bail and will stay in custody until his next court date on February 26. Thankfully, no officers were hurt during the whole ordeal.
