Liverpool: A man is really struggling after a woman stole his suitcase at McDonald’s. Angela Corris was part of a group that took his bag while he was in the restroom. The suitcase had £5,000 in cash, along with his birth certificate and clothes.

When the police caught her, she claimed she thought it was lost property. But the judge wasn’t buying it, calling her excuse “a pile of rubbish.” The court heard that Nasimi Esmaeil left his suitcase under a table while he stepped away. When he came back, it was gone.

The prosecutor explained that Corris was seen leaving with the suitcase. She told the police she thought she had a right to keep it because she found it. In a statement, Esmaeil expressed how angry and unsafe he feels now. He’s had panic attacks and feels suspicious of everyone.

He said he can’t eat or sleep properly anymore. The money in that bag was his hard-earned savings, and he just can’t believe this happened. Corris has a history of theft and other offenses. Her lawyer mentioned she’s homeless and has serious issues to deal with.

She admitted to stealing the suitcase but was supposed to be sentenced soon. However, the judge decided to delay it to see if she needs mental health treatment. The judge made it clear that if she really thought it was lost, she would have asked the staff or waited a bit. Instead, she just took it. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
