Man arrested over Brit’s murder in Costa Blanca breaks silence as ‘killer still on the loose’

Man Arrested in Costa Blanca Murder Case Claims Innocence as Killer Remains Free

A man detained over the murder of a Brit in Costa Blanca insists he is innocent while the real killer is still at large

Crime

Costa Blanca, John George, Czech Republic, Rojales, Northern Ireland

Rojales: A man arrested in connection with the murder of John George from Belfast is claiming he had nothing to do with it. This guy, a 32-year-old from the Czech Republic, was taken in after John’s body was found in an orchard.

He was held on murder charges but got bail after a judge said he might just be an accomplice. It seems like the police are still looking for the actual killer, who hasn’t been caught yet.

Apparently, the arrested man thinks he’s being set up. He told the judge that John’s family pointed fingers at him on social media, which isn’t cool. His lawyer, Manuel Ramon Rives, said there’s no solid evidence against him and that he’s just a friend of someone the police are after.

John’s body was discovered under some lemon trees, about five miles from Rojales. The Civil Guard has only confirmed this one arrest so far. John’s dad, Billy, had already named some suspects online before they found his son’s body.

The court has released the arrested man with some conditions, like signing in at court every two weeks and not leaving Spain. They’re still investigating, and it could take a while to sort everything out.

John went missing on December 14, and his family got worried when he didn’t make his flight home. They even started a GoFundMe to help with the search. His brother and parents traveled to Spain to look for him, joined by friends and family.

It’s a tough situation, and everyone is hoping for some answers soon.
