Oldham: So, there was this pretty shocking incident at Royal Oldham Hospital. A man got arrested for attempted murder after a nurse was stabbed in the A&E department. It all went down late Saturday night, around 11:30 PM, when the police got called to the scene.
Apparently, a member of the public attacked the nurse with something sharp, but it wasn’t a knife. The poor woman, who’s in her 50s, got seriously hurt and is still in the hospital getting treatment.
Her injuries are said to be life-changing, which is just heartbreaking. The police arrested a 37-year-old man right there at the hospital, and he’s still in custody. They don’t think anyone else is involved, so that’s a bit of relief for the community.
Detective Sergeant Craig Roters mentioned that this is a serious situation, and they’re keeping the nurse’s family and colleagues in their thoughts. They’re also increasing police presence in the area to reassure everyone and answer any questions folks might have.
