Smethwick: A man was taken into custody after a heartbreaking incident where a two-year-old boy lost his life in a hit-and-run. Four adults were also hurt in the crash.

This all went down on Dartmouth Road, near Birmingham, just before 11 PM on Saturday night. The driver of a grey Porsche Cayenne sped off after colliding with a Toyota Auris that had the boy and the adults inside.

Sadly, the little boy passed away after being rushed to the hospital. Two of the adults, a 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, are still in serious condition.

On Monday, police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They acted on some tips they received and he’s still being questioned.

Turns out, the Porsche was reported stolen earlier this month. West Midlands Police are asking anyone who might have information or dashcam footage to come forward.
