Armagh, Northern Ireland, Seamus Fegan, Police, Lorry Incident

Armagh: So, there’s this guy, Seamus Fegan, from Forkhill, who’s been in a bit of trouble. He’s accused of driving a lorry that hit two police officers back in 2010, leaving one of them seriously injured. And get this, he managed to dodge the cops for almost 15 years!

He finally got caught while taking his pregnant wife to the hospital. Talk about a dramatic turn of events! In court, they said he caused grievous bodily injury to an officer by driving dangerously. The whole thing went down during a police operation at an industrial estate.

When the police approached, Fegan allegedly drove the lorry right through the shutters, hitting one officer and seriously injuring another. That officer had to be airlifted to the hospital. After the incident, Fegan took off, and the lorry was found later in Dundalk, but he was nowhere to be found.

They even found blood in the lorry that matched Fegan’s DNA. Despite all the efforts to track him down, he kept evading the police. It wasn’t until 2025 that he was finally stopped and arrested.

In court, the police were worried he might skip out again, especially since the case is nearly 15 years old. But Fegan’s defense argued he’s been around the whole time, just not driving the lorry when it happened. The judge ended up granting him bail, but with some hefty conditions.

So, it’s a wild story of evasion and a long wait for justice. Let’s see how this unfolds!
