Alexander Dighton, Llantrisant, Wales, Police, Court
Llantrisant: A man is in court for attempted murder. He showed up at a police station and started damaging vehicles. This happened around 7 PM on Friday.
Alexander Dighton, 27, allegedly injured three police officers during a struggle. They were taken to the hospital but have since been discharged.
Dighton appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court. He faces serious charges, including attempted murder and assaulting an emergency worker. He refused legal help, saying he doesn’t respect lawyers.
When asked about a duty solicitor, Dighton expressed distrust in the legal system. The judge decided to send the case to Crown Court. Dighton will appear at Cardiff Crown Court on March 3.
Chief Superintendent Stephen Jones thanked the community for their support. He praised the officers for their bravery during the incident.
