Manchester: So, there was this pretty shocking incident at Piccadilly station today. A 51-year-old guy got arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman in her 40s was stabbed. Thankfully, she’s now stable after getting urgent treatment at the hospital.

The police believe this was a targeted attack, and the man was known to the victim. They swooped in and arrested him this morning at the station, and he’s still in custody for questioning.

It all started when emergency services were called to Dukinfield in Tameside around 4 PM on Wednesday. Reports came in about a woman being stabbed at the junction of Church Street and Hope Street.

Investigators were seen doing door-to-door inquiries in the area, especially around Church Street and outside Ravensfield Primary School. The school even posted on Facebook to reassure parents that all the kids were safe.

After the woman received treatment, she’s recovering well, which is a relief. The police are really focused on this case, and they’ve got local detectives and specialist units working together.

Detective Inspector Lisa Devitt mentioned that they understand how shocking this is for the community but reassured everyone that there’s no ongoing threat. They’re committed to tackling violence and keeping victims safe.

They’re also asking anyone with information to step forward. It’s a tough situation, but the police are on it.
