Edinburgh: A man named Issa Mohamed, 30, has been sentenced to four years and eight months for his role in two robberies. The incidents took place in February 2024, one in Glasgow and the other in Edinburgh.

In the first robbery, he threatened a woman with an imitation firearm and stole her phone and cash. This happened on St Vincent Street in Glasgow. The second incident occurred a few days later, where he targeted a 60-year-old woman in Edinburgh, again using an imitation firearm. Thankfully, both women were shaken but not physically harmed.

Detective Constable Gary Lipscombe spoke about the case, emphasizing how distressing Mohamed’s actions were for the victims. He highlighted the seriousness of the crimes and the commitment to ensuring justice is served.

It’s a reminder that violence, even with imitation weapons, is taken seriously, and the police are dedicated to keeping communities safe.
