Mumbai: So, the folks in Malad are really stepping up their game. They’re super concerned about bikers zooming across a pedestrian bridge. It’s a big deal for them, and they held a meeting to talk about it.

These residents from Evershine Nagar are fed up with the ramps that let bikers onto the bridge over Malvani creek. They’ve decided to give the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and the police a deadline to take action. If nothing happens, they’re planning a major protest.

During their meeting, they shared that these ramps have caused a lot of accidents, especially involving older folks. They want the ramps gone, traffic police stationed there, and some barriers to keep bikers off the bridge.

They’ve set January 20 as the deadline. If the authorities don’t act, one resident, Tajinder Singh Tiwana, is ready to go on an indefinite fast. He’s been pushing for change but feels ignored.

Interestingly, back in 2016, the BMC had plans to demolish the ramps but faced strong opposition from locals. It’s been a long road, and these residents are determined to see it through.
