Majority of Britons believe Musk having negative impact on UK politics

London: So, it turns out a lot of folks in the UK aren’t too happy with Elon Musk lately. A new poll from Opinium shows that 53% of voters think he’s having a negative impact on British politics. That’s quite a number, right?

Musk has been pretty vocal on social media, especially about Keir Starmer and the Labour government. He’s been throwing around some serious accusations, calling out Starmer for not supporting another inquiry into grooming gangs. He even went as far as to label Jess Phillips, the safeguarding minister, a “rape genocide apologist.” Yikes!

And it doesn’t stop there. Musk also took a jab at Nigel Farage, suggesting he’s not fit to lead Reform UK. It seems like he’s stirring the pot quite a bit. In one of his posts, he even asked his millions of followers if America should “liberate” the UK from Starmer’s government.

Interestingly, while Musk might be thinking of making a big donation to Reform UK, the party’s supporters aren’t too keen on his comments. A whopping 71% believe Farage is the best leader for them right now.

Adam Drummond from Opinium pointed out that many people aren’t thrilled about a foreign billionaire meddling in their politics. Farage himself has said he disagrees with Musk on some points but doesn’t think their relationship is damaged.

When it comes to the inquiry into grooming gangs, opinions are mixed. About 36% of people support another national inquiry, while others think local councils should handle it.

Overall, it looks like the public isn’t too impressed with how the Labour government is dealing with these issues, and the previous Conservative government didn’t fare much better. It’s a tricky situation for sure, and it’ll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
