Major Update on Llandudno Pier Repairs After Storm Darragh Damage
Llandudno Pier is undergoing repairs after severe damage from Storm Darragh, with updates on reopening plans shared on social media.

Llandudno: So, there’s been a big update about the pier. It took quite a hit during Storm Darragh, and they’re working hard to fix it up. The goal is to get it back open for everyone soon.
Earlier this month, reports showed that the damage was pretty bad. The deck was messed up, and some kiosks had their roofs torn off. One even got blown over! It’s been a bit of a mess.
For a while, the pier was closed past The Grand. They tried to open it up a bit, but then more bad weather came, and they had to close it down again. It’s been a tough time for the team.
Now, they’ve shared some details on their Facebook page about the repairs. They’ve put up scaffolding around the gents’ toilet block to fix the roof. They’ve also cleared the area where the Kelly’s unit was blown away.
They’re working on the bar’s roof too since parts of it got ripped off. Plus, they’re doing major work at the Happy Valley entrance to sort out a hut that got knocked over.
Once that’s safe, they’ll check the second hut that was hit. They’ve got a lot to do under the Cafe, Bar, and Deck Arcade since those areas were really damaged. They need to replace or reattach about 10-12 pieces!
They’re also fixing the festoon lighting and some benches and tables that got wrecked. It’s a lot of work, but they’re on it.
They mentioned that the weather hasn’t been on their side, making things tougher. But they’re aiming to open the pier up to The Crystal Hut by next weekend. The shops will stay closed until February 1st, but they’re hopeful for a full reopening soon.
