Glasgow: A double-decker bus crashed into a railway bridge, leaving seven people injured. It was a pretty serious situation, with one man, 60, in critical condition.

The accident happened on Cook Street in Tradeston around 5:55 PM. The bus got stuck under the bridge, and it looked pretty bad with the roof torn off and windows shattered. There were 11 passengers on board at the time.

Police arrested a 57-year-old man related to the crash. He’s been charged with road traffic offences but has been released for now. He’ll have to appear in court later.

Along with the critically injured man, six others were hurt, including a 52-year-old woman and five men aged between 30 and 41. They were taken to the hospital but thankfully had minor injuries and were later discharged.

Emergency services had to deal with the aftermath, which caused some train service disruptions. Network Rail confirmed there was no structural damage to the bridge, and trains were back to normal by 8:01 PM.

They mentioned that incidents like this cost taxpayers a lot and are preventable. Drivers really need to be aware of their vehicle’s height and plan their routes carefully.

First Bus is looking into the accident and is working with the police. They expressed their concern for everyone affected by this unfortunate event.
