Major East Coast storm threatens damaging winds, heavy snow

Snow will blanket southern and eastern Newfoundland overnight Saturday, while the Avalon Peninsula might see some rain as warmer air moves in. But don’t let that fool you; central and western Newfoundland will still be buried in snow.
