The team just couldn’t get it together. They racked up 11 penalties, including three for unnecessary roughness. Bosa pointed out that all those flags are a sign of trouble.
Looking at the offense, running back Patrick Taylor started but struggled. He only managed 24 yards on eight carries. Brock Purdy, the quarterback, was the leading rusher with just 26 yards. Not great, right?
Purdy had a decent game until a hit led to a crucial interception in the fourth quarter. He ended with 313 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one pick. George Kittle and Deebo Samuel were the bright spots, but it wasn’t enough.
On defense, the Dolphins ran all over the 49ers. De’Von Achane had a standout game with 120 rushing yards, including a 50-yard touchdown. The 49ers just couldn’t stop them.
In the passing game, Tua Tagovailoa picked apart the 49ers’ defense. They struggled to put pressure on him, and while they did well against Tyreek Hill, they couldn’t contain Achane or tight end Jonnu Smith.
Special teams were a mess again. Kicker Jake Moody missed a 41-yard field goal, which didn’t help the cause. He’s been inconsistent this season, and that’s a problem.
Coaching also came under fire. Kittle defended the coaches, but it’s hard to ignore that the right calls weren’t made at crucial moments.
Overall, this game was a microcosm of the 49ers’ season. They lost key players to injuries and couldn’t overcome their mistakes. It’s been a tough year for them, and this game just highlighted all the issues.
