Maharashtra: So, there’s some buzz going around in Maharashtra politics. Sanjay Shirsat from Shiv Sena just dropped hints about a big political shake-up. This comes right after some party folks called for the resignation of NCP’s Jayant Patil due to their not-so-great performance in the Assembly elections.
Recently, the NCP had a two-day meeting, and it seems there were two different camps. One group wants to jump right into power, while the other is thinking about merging with Ajit Pawar’s party to get into the government.
Shirsat mentioned that Sharad Pawar’s stance seems to be shifting daily. He believes this shows Pawar is eager to stay in power. He thinks those who can’t handle being out of power might either stick with the alliance or cozy up to Ajit Pawar.
Meanwhile, Patil is feeling the heat from party members. He’s asked them to gather detailed reports on how many votes their candidates got in their areas. He’s made it clear: if the numbers don’t show strength, he’ll step down as state president in a week.
