Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde denies resignation amid rising calls for accountability over the Beed sarpanch murder case

Mumbai: So, Dhananjay Munde, the Maharashtra minister, is in hot water over the murder of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. He recently made it clear that he’s not stepping down from his cabinet position.
After a cabinet meeting, he told reporters, “I have not resigned.” He didn’t really dive into any other questions, though. It seems like he’s trying to keep things under wraps.
Opposition leaders are really pushing back. Supriya Sule from NCP and Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena are saying Munde shouldn’t even be in the cabinet anymore. Sule even mentioned he should resign on moral grounds.
Raut is also questioning why Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is still supporting Munde when so many people are calling for his resignation. It’s a bit of a mess, to say the least.
The pressure is mounting, especially after Walmik Karad, one of Munde’s close aides, turned himself in to the Crime Investigation Department. He’s linked to the extortion case tied to Deshmukh’s murder back in December.
It’s definitely a situation to keep an eye on as things unfold in Maharashtra.
