Latur: So, here’s the scoop. The police in Latur have filed two cases against Manoj Jarange-Patil. He’s a Maratha quota activist, and he’s in hot water for some comments he made about Minister Dhananjay Munde and the Vanjari community.
This all kicked off after a rally in Parbhani back in January. A supporter of Munde, Kishor Munde, wasn’t having it and lodged a complaint. He said Jarange made some pretty nasty remarks that crossed the line.
The first case was filed at the Kingaon police station. They’re looking at charges like intentional insult and criminal intimidation. Then, there’s a second case from a local guy named Ganesh Kedar, who also felt Jarange’s words were inflammatory and aimed at stirring up trouble.
Jarange’s comments were seen as inciting violence and creating a rift between communities. The police are also looking into remarks made by social activist Anjali Damania, who allegedly tried to tarnish the Vanjari community’s image during a news interview. Both Jarange and Damania are facing serious charges for promoting communal discord.
