Orlando: The Magic are facing a tough situation. Franz Wagner is out indefinitely after tearing his right oblique during a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. This news comes from ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Wagner, who was picked in the first round of the 2021 draft, will be checked again in about four weeks. He’s been having a great season, averaging 24.4 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.6 rebounds over 25 games. Just the other night, he scored 30 points, marking his ninth straight game with at least 20 points.

To make matters worse, the Magic are also missing Paolo Banchero, who has a similar injury and hasn’t played since October 30. Banchero was on fire, averaging 29 points in the first five games of the season.

Losing two key players is definitely not what the Magic need right now. They’re currently sitting third in the Eastern Conference with a solid 16-9 record and have won 12 of their last 14 games.

Next up, the Magic will head to Milwaukee to face the Bucks in the NBA Cup quarterfinals on Tuesday. It’s going to be a challenging game without their star players.
