Pembrokeshire: This morning’s Boxing Day Swim was more than just a chilly dip for one couple. It turned into a magical moment they’ll never forget.
As over a thousand brave souls splashed into the sea in Tenby, Philip Frith had something special planned. He got down on one knee and popped the big question to Victoria Tansey.
And guess what? She said yes! The couple’s favorite song, “Ocean Eyes” by Billie Eilish, played in the background as they celebrated their engagement with a joyful splash.
Philip, a former Royal Marine and now a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coach, admitted he was super nervous. Victoria, on the other hand, was just in shock but thrilled about the surprise.
Originally from Hakin, Victoria has a background in professional dancing and even appeared on shows like X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. Now, she runs her own entertainment agency.
Even though they live in Guildford, she loves coming back to Pembrokeshire. Philip shared how much she enjoyed showing him around her hometown, and they often visit her family and explore the stunning beaches together.
Philip recalled their first Christmas as a couple when Victoria took him to the Boxing Day Swim. It became one of his favorite memories, so he wanted to surprise her by proposing this year.
Victoria’s mom and her best friend, Sean, were there to witness the proposal, with Sean even carrying the engagement ring. As the crowd cheered, swim chairman Sam Skyrme-Blackhall joked about the unexpected twist to the event, congratulating the happy couple.
