Staffordshire: So, there was this dad, Stephen Lockley, who got caught with a whopping 30kg of drugs worth around £3 million. It all went down during a sting on the M6. The police stopped him at Norton Canes Services in his white transit van last July.
When they searched the van, they found 24kg of heroin, which was valued at about £2.4 million. Plus, there was another 5kg of cocaine, worth around £500,000. That’s a serious haul!
Lockley, who’s 39 and from Liverpool, pleaded guilty to having those drugs with the intent to sell. He ended up getting a six-year sentence at Stafford Crown Court in January.
After the verdict, Detective Inspector David Simpson made it clear that Lockley was part of a big drug supply operation. He emphasized that illegal drugs are a major problem in communities and that the police are committed to tackling these criminal gangs.
Simpson also warned others involved in drug dealing that they won’t get away with it. They’ll be caught, charged, and sent to prison. It’s a strong message for anyone thinking about getting into that life.
Stay tuned for more updates from the courts!
