South Gloucestershire: This morning, a nasty crash involving four vehicles caused a real mess on the M5. Drivers were stuck in traffic for up to 70 minutes. The accident happened near Cribbs Causeway around 6am.
According to Avon and Somerset Police, there was a small vehicle fire, but thankfully, no one got hurt. The northbound lanes were closed from junction 18 for the M49 to junction 17 for Cribbs Causeway.
Commuters faced some serious delays starting around 6:20am, with traffic backed up for about six miles. The police confirmed the closure and said emergency services were on the scene, but no serious injuries were reported.
