Worcester: So, there was this big crash on the M5, right? It happened near junction 6 on Friday morning, and it involved two lorries. Motorists were stuck for over an hour, which is a real pain when you’re trying to get somewhere.
When the accident first occurred, they had to close three lanes on the northbound side just after junction 6. You can imagine the chaos that caused! Traffic was backed up all the way to junction 7 and even affected the A4440 in Worcester.
Thankfully, they managed to keep one lane open while they worked on clearing the mess. By around 10:45 am, National Highways announced that all three lanes were back open, which was a relief for everyone stuck in that jam.
We reached out to West Mercia Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service for more info. The police said they got the call just before 7 am about the collision. Luckily, there were no injuries reported, but there was some fuel spilled on the road.
The ambulance service also confirmed they sent a team to the scene, but there were no patients needing treatment, so they were sent back. Just another day on the roads, I guess!
