M25 Dartford Crossing Road Closures Drivers Should Avoid This Month
Drivers should prepare for multiple closures at the Dartford Crossing this month due to essential maintenance work and inspections
Dartford, Kent, Essex, M25, Road Closures
Dartford: So, here’s the scoop. This month, the Dartford Crossing is going to be a bit of a hassle for drivers. They’re doing some maintenance work, and it means closures on weekends.
Starting this weekend, the west tunnel will be closed overnight for inspections. It’s from 10 PM to 6 AM, so if you’re planning to drive late, you might want to rethink your route.
While the west tunnel is closed, the east tunnel will still be open for northbound traffic. But don’t forget, they’re also doing safety checks on weekends, which means more closures.
Now, about the QEII Bridge. It’s going to be closed for three weekends starting tomorrow. Each Saturday night, it’ll be shut from 10 PM to 5 AM. So, if you need to cross, plan ahead!
A spokesperson from National Highways mentioned that these closures are for essential maintenance. They’re working on bridge bearings and expansion joints, which sounds important.
For those driving southbound, there’ll be a contraflow diversion through the east tunnel during the bridge closures. Just keep an eye out for signs and follow the detours.
And if you’re driving a taller vehicle, be aware of height restrictions in the northbound direction. If you’re over 4.8 meters, you’ll need to take a different route via the M25.
So, mark your calendars and plan your trips accordingly. It’s going to be a busy month at the Dartford Crossing!
