Lyndhurst: The Costa Coffee at 38-40 High Street has closed. It was a favorite spot for many. This location used to be a bookshop before becoming a cafe.
Mettricks also closed recently. They faced challenges with their senior team. They announced they won’t reopen until Spring 2025.
Costa Coffee hasn’t shared why they closed. A notice on the door says the store is permanently closed. It directs customers to nearby locations in Hythe and Totton.
A spokesperson mentioned that staff are looking for new roles. Many locals will miss Costa Coffee, according to Chris Willsher, the parish council chairman.
He hopes the space won’t stay empty for long. The former Costa location is now available for rent. It’s described as a substantial commercial unit.
This unit has been a part of Lyndhurst for years. It’s in a busy area, popular with locals and tourists alike. The town is known for its beautiful surroundings in the New Forest National Park.
