Charnock Richard: So, there was this crazy scene on the M6 last night. A lorry just burst into flames out of nowhere! Emergency crews were on it fast, but it was quite the sight.
People were sharing dashcam videos online, showing the lorry fully ablaze while cars zoomed by. It was wild! Two lanes got shut down while the fire crews worked their magic.
The fire started around 7:30 PM, and by 9 PM, those lanes were still closed. Police and fire services were all over the place trying to manage the situation.
One driver mentioned seeing the cab on fire and stuff dripping onto the road. Another person said their daughter was stuck in traffic, and it was basically at a standstill. Not fun at all!
Lancashire Police even put out a warning on social media, telling folks to be careful and find other routes if they could. They said the fire caused some damage to the road, which didn’t help the traffic situation.
By 9 PM, traffic data showed two lanes were still closed from Standish to Leyland. Just a heads up if you’re planning to travel that way!
