London: So, the Drumsheds superclub is still in business after some pretty serious incidents. They had two drug-related deaths and a stabbing recently, which raised a lot of eyebrows.
Enfield Council had a meeting and decided to let the club keep its license but with some new rules to make things safer. They want to make sure everyone who goes there is looked after.
Cllr Susan Erbil from the council said they’re really focused on the safety of local residents. The police and the club’s management had their say during the meeting, and in the end, they agreed to let the club stay open with some modifications.
They’ll be keeping a close eye on the place, doing checks to make sure the club follows the new conditions. But it’s up to the club to stick to those rules.
This all comes as the police are still looking into the death of a 27-year-old guy who was at Drumsheds last October. They think it was drug-related, which is really tragic.
There was also a 29-year-old woman who died after being at the venue in December, and they suspect drugs played a role there too. Plus, there was a stabbing incident in November, but no one has been arrested for any of these events yet.
Back in December, the council had an emergency meeting about the club, and they decided it could keep running but with extra conditions. Drumsheds is a massive venue, by the way, located in an old IKEA, and it can hold up to 15,000 people!
They’ve got three dancefloors, loads of bars, and a big outdoor area. But just last month, some folks complained about overcrowding and long queues at a Pendulum event. The club said they faced some challenges that night, like longer waits and congestion due to extra security measures.
