London: So, here’s the scoop. The London Overground is going to be partially closed for six weekends this winter. They’re doing some engineering work on the Mildmay line, and it’s set to last until late March.

Basically, they need to replace some worn-out tracks between Stratford and Richmond. This is all about keeping things running smoothly in the future. You know how it is—trains wear out tracks over time, especially with heavy freight trains zooming by.

They’re replacing about 675 meters of track near Stratford. Plus, they’re adding new rails, sleepers, and ballasts to help prevent future issues. It’s a big job, but it’s necessary.

Oh, and they’re also putting in some new wheel timbers that should last up to 50 years. These will help keep the trains steady when they go over bridges. One of the bridges getting this upgrade is over Chalk Farm Road, close to Camden Road station.

Network Rail and TfL have said sorry for the hassle this will cause. Simon Milburn from Network Rail Anglia mentioned that they really need to get this work done while the trains aren’t running. It’s all about making the railway safer and more reliable.

During these weekends, there will be rail replacement buses available. If you’re planning to travel, it’s a good idea to check the TfL website for the latest updates.
