Chislehurst: So, there’s this big fuss going on in Bromley. A planning inspector decided that a rundown house, which used to be a cannabis factory, should be turned into a children’s care home. Can you believe it?

Residents are really upset about it. They say the place is a mess and has a shady past. Hillary Gray, who’s lived there for ages, shared her worries. She mentioned that the house was supposed to be a family home but ended up being a drug den. The police had to step in last March when they found out what was happening inside.

The council had already turned down the proposal from Bithoms Support Services last year after getting 84 objections from locals. They were worried about safety, especially since another home run by the same company didn’t do so well in an inspection. But the planning inspector thought it was a good idea, saying Bromley needs more children’s homes.

One neighbor even said they called the cops after smelling cannabis coming from the house. It’s been a real headache for everyone. The electricity had to be cut off for safety reasons, and it sounds like the place was a fire hazard.

The owner of the house has been the same since 2016, but no one from the council or the company has commented yet. It’s a tough situation for the community, and folks are just looking out for the kids.
