Local Police Box Inspired by Doctor Who to Be Moved After 27 Years

London: People in Earl’s Court are upset that a famous police box will be moved. The box, which looks like the TARDIS from Doctor Who, has been outside the tube station for nearly 30 years. Locals say it’s a beloved spot for tourists.

Kensington and Chelsea Council decided to relocate the box due to ongoing issues with people urinating nearby. Many residents feel it’s a shame to move such a popular attraction. George, who has worked nearby for over 40 years, believes the box should stay in its original place.

He shared his thoughts, saying, "The box has been part of my daily life for so long. It attracts many visitors who take pictures and then come to my shop." George feels that moving it would hurt local business and the charm of Earl’s Court.

Jean, a visitor who saw the box for the first time, was shocked by the idea of people urinating on it. She expressed her fondness for the box, saying it brought back memories from her childhood watching Doctor Who. She hopes the council reconsiders the move.

Another fan, Andrea, also shared her disappointment. She couldn’t understand why anyone would disrespect such a lovely sight. The council plans to move the box to Hogarth Road, claiming it will be in a better spot and more visible.

The police box was first installed in 1996 to help reduce crime and improve safety in the area. It used to have a public phone but has become a tourist attraction over the years. The council is seeking feedback from locals until November 18.
