London: Lloyds Bank and Halifax customers faced payment issues on Monday. Many reported problems with their smartphone apps. This made it hard to send or receive money.

Customers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustrations. They were worried about missing payments. This happened just after Barclays fixed its own app issues.

One customer, Wayne Grills, asked why payments weren’t showing up. He was frustrated that direct debits still left his account. Lloyds responded, saying they were aware of the issues.

They advised customers not to try making payments again. Lloyds apologized and promised to fix the problems soon. They are working hard to restore normal service.

Last week, Barclays had a similar outage. They claimed it was a technology issue, not a cyber attack. Service monitoring site Downdetector noted problems with Lloyds and Halifax apps early Monday.

While Lloyds hasn’t confirmed the cause, they are responding to customer concerns on social media. Halifax is also addressing complaints directly through their official accounts.
