Llangollen: Builders from Team Roundhouse have finished work on the museum. It’s located on Parade Street and will reopen on March 8.

The museum has a new roof and a slightly different look outside. Inside, it’s much improved for visitors.

Funding from various sources helped replace the roof and enhance storage. They also added a new environmental monitoring system and improved signage.

This month, staff will clean and set up displays, moving the collection back into the museum.

On opening night, doors will open at 6:00 PM. The Llangollen Silver Band will play as guests arrive, with food and drinks available.

At 6:30 PM, museum staff and MP Becky Gittins will speak. Gittins has supported the project throughout its development.

Dr. Susie White from the Portable Antiquities Scheme will also be there. She’ll help identify any found objects guests bring along.

After the band, guests can watch a short film about Llangollen’s history. It highlights changes over the last 2,700 years in just seven minutes.

The museum is now owned by the community after being purchased from Denbighshire Free Council last December.

The first talk of the year is on March 26 at 7:00 PM. Graham Edwards will discuss the Welsh in Patagonia.

There have been some delays, but plans for the Llangollen Museum Young Archaeologists’ group are still in progress.
