Liverpool: So, it looks like Bologna is waiting to see if Liverpool will let Federico Chiesa go during the January transfer window. Chiesa was picked up for about $12 million from Juventus last summer, but things haven’t really clicked for him at Anfield.
He’s only played four times for Liverpool, and most of those were off the bench. His only start was in a League Cup match last September. That’s not exactly what you want when you’re hoping to make an impact.
He even had a stretch where he didn’t play for three months, and he hasn’t been seen since he came back against Southampton just before Christmas. The manager, Arne Slot, brought him on at halftime but wasn’t too impressed, saying his performance was “up and down.”
Now, there are whispers about a possible return to Italy, with Bologna reportedly keen on bringing him in for the second half of the season. They’re currently sitting seventh in Serie A and are hoping to replicate last season’s success when they made it to the Champions League.
Bologna is just waiting to see if Liverpool is open to letting Chiesa go, and honestly, it wouldn’t be shocking if they were, given how little he’s played. On top of that, Bologna is also looking at Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United. He’s had a rough time since joining, scoring only four goals in 28 games, and fans have even cheered when he was subbed off during a match.
