Liverpool: So, it looks like Liverpool is thinking about selling Ben Doak for a cool $37 million. They turned down an $18.5 million offer from Crystal Palace, which is pretty interesting.
This kid, Doak, is just 19 and has been doing really well on loan at Middlesbrough. He’s scored a couple of goals and has five assists, plus he snagged the Championship’s young player of the month award for November. Not too shabby, right?
Even though Liverpool sees potential in him for the future, they’re open to letting him go if the right offer comes along. He joined the Reds from Celtic back in 2022 and has played 10 times for the senior team, but they thought a loan would help him grow this season.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough’s boss, Michael Carrick, has been really happy with what Doak brings to the team. He mentioned how talented Doak is and how he’s a different kind of threat on the field. He’s not all about fancy tricks; he’s direct and knows how to get into good positions.
On another note, Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, is keeping an eye on Luis Diaz at Liverpool. There’s been talk about Diaz possibly moving to Camp Nou, but Liverpool seems keen on locking him down with a new contract.
Diaz’s current deal runs until 2027, and he’s still on the same terms since joining from Porto in 2022. Deco is reportedly waiting to see what happens with Diaz, as Barcelona prefers him over other left-wing options.
This season has been great for Diaz, too. He’s scored 12 goals in 24 appearances, which is just one goal shy of what he managed in 51 games last season. Looks like he’s really hitting his stride!
