Liverpool Snub is Laughable as Salah Overlooked for Deserved Award
Mohamed Salah’s impressive December performance was ignored for the Player of the Month award, leaving fans baffled and frustrated

Liverpool: So, here’s the deal. Mohamed Salah had an incredible December, scoring seven goals and assisting another seven in just six games. But somehow, he didn’t win the Player of the Month award. Crazy, right?
You’d think with those numbers, he’d be a shoo-in. He’s won the award six times since joining Liverpool in 2017, and most fans agree he deserved it again this time. He kicked off the month with a goal and an assist against Manchester City, then had a wild game against Newcastle, scoring twice and assisting once in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Unfortunately, the Merseyside derby got postponed, which meant Salah missed out on more chances to rack up stats. But he still managed to assist in a draw with Fulham and then went on to score two goals and assist two more in a 6-3 win over Tottenham. By the end of December, he had a hand in seven of Liverpool’s 14 points.
Now, the award went to Alexander Isak, who also had a fantastic month with eight goals and two assists. But let’s be real—Salah’s impact was just bigger. Isak scored in every game, which is impressive, but if you take away his contributions, Newcastle wouldn’t have lost much ground in the points race.
Isak did score against Liverpool, but his goal in a 4-2 loss to Brentford didn’t really help his team. He had some great games, but Salah’s contributions were crucial for Liverpool’s success. It’s just a shame the award didn’t reflect that.
The Player of the Month winner is decided by a mix of public votes, expert panels, and club captains. Meanwhile, the Manager of the Month award went to Nuno Espirito Santo, whose Nottingham Forest team had a stellar month, racking up 15 points.
