Liverpool: Everton Women’s team might have to start paying rent for their home games. This comes as Liverpool Council looks for ways to boost its budget.

Since 2020, the team has been playing at Walton Hall Park after moving from Southport. They had a deal back in 2019 that allowed them to use the park, but now the council wants to formalize things with a lease agreement.

The council is facing a big budget shortfall, so they’re thinking about charging rent to help cover costs. They had previously accepted a grant to help with the move, but now they need to find new income sources.

Everton Women have had a bit of a journey, playing at different venues over the years. They’ve made upgrades to Walton Hall Park to meet league standards, and the council even chipped in for some improvements.

Next week, the council will discuss the lease terms, and they need to finalize everything by March 24 to secure more funding. It’s a bit of a tricky situation, but they’re hoping to work it out soon.
