Wigan: A tree has fallen on the railway, causing a real mess. Trains are cancelled, and some lines are blocked. It all started around 5:30 PM today.

Network Rail is on it. They said all services are suspended between Wigan and St Helens Central. Their teams are heading out to check the damage.

National Rail added that the overhead wires between Garswood and St Helens Central are damaged. This means some trains might be delayed by up to 40 minutes or even cancelled.

Northern Rail also confirmed that services through these stations will face cancellations or delays. It looks like this disruption will last until the end of the day.
