Worcester: A recent look into noise complaints shows that over 800 were filed with the city council. Most of these complaints came from folks unhappy with their neighbors.
From October 2021 to October 2024, there were 867 noise complaints. A whopping 59.1% of these were about noise from homes.
Interestingly, the Cathedral Ward, which is right in the city center, had the most complaints—136 in total. But Warndon wasn’t far behind, which doesn’t surprise local councillor Jill Desayrah.
She mentioned that barking and whining dogs are the top culprits for noise complaints she hears about. It seems like a lot of residents are reaching out for help with these issues.
Desayrah said, “I’m not surprised at all that Warndon has so many complaints.” She also pointed out that getting Worcestershire Regulatory Services involved can really help reduce the noise for everyone.
Anyone dealing with noise problems can report them on the WRS website or contact Desayrah directly for assistance.
Interestingly, the quietest spot in Worcester is Broadheath, with just one complaint in three years. Quite a contrast, right?
