Canterbury: It’s been a tough few days for folks in Canterbury. Many homes are still without water or have very low pressure. This all started when a water main burst over the weekend, right when the temperatures were dropping.
The issue was first spotted on Saturday, and it took a while for the crews to find the leak. They finally zeroed in on Connors Way, which led to a road closure so they could get in there and fix things up.
Crews worked hard through the night, and by Monday morning, most of the St Martin’s area had their water back. But not everyone is in the clear yet. Some homes are still waiting for their water supply to be fully restored.
If you’re one of those affected, there’s a bottled water station set up at the New Dover Road Park and Ride. Plus, if you signed up for priority services, they’re delivering bottled water to you.
South East Water has been keeping everyone updated, saying the repairs are ongoing and that the road closure is necessary for safety. They know this has been a hassle and are really sorry for the trouble.
Stay tuned for more updates as this situation unfolds!
